Physician Reports Success in Treating Fibromyalgia
with Antiviral Medications
After successfully treating nearly 10,000 patients over
the past two decades,
Daniel
Dantini, M.D. is convinced that viruses can cause fibromyalgia, a painful, often
debilitating disease, which affects 4 to 6 million Americans annually. Dr.
Dantini outlines his findings and treatment regimen in his
new book, The New Fibromyalgia Remedy—Stop
Your Pain Now with an Anti-Viral Regimen (Addicus Books, February 2008).
"I hope to raise awareness about the causes of
fibromyalgia," Dr. Dantini said.
"It
is a disease, and we need to treat the causes rather than only the symptoms.
Treating fibromyalgia with psychiatric drugs and pain medications does not get
to the root of the problem. We need to treat the cause—viruses that ‘hide’
in the body."
Dr. Dantini reports a 70 percent success
rate with patients. His protocol involves the use
antiviral medications such as Valtrex and Famvir. He also tests patients for
food allergies, which most people don’t realize they
have. “The most serious allergies can cause troubling
symptoms, such as migraines and irritable bowel syndrome, but the public
does not readily understand how these types of food allergies work.” Dr.
Dantini finds that about 30
percent of his patients have symptoms related to food allergies, rather than
fibromyalgia.
Dr. Dantini, Ormond Beach, Florida, is available for
