Several physical rehabilitation centers in Omaha,Nebraska have begun using the new, second edition of The Stroke Recovery Book, author by rehabilitation physician Kip Burkman, M.D.  According to rehabilitation nurse, Heidi Thomson, BSN, CRNN, "The book is a comprehensive look at the ins and outs of stroke recovery. It provides families with clear explanations to the questions that they are needing or wanting to ask, but often they are just so overwhelmed with the changes that have occurred, that they aren’t even sure of what to ask. Many families have told me that the book has served as their main resource for understanding what their loved ones are going through."
