Addicus title, Sex and the Heart—Erectile Dysfunction's Link to Cardiovascular Disease, is a winner in the 16th annual National Health Information Awards. The awards program recognizes the nation's best consumer health information programs and materials.

The book, chosen from more than 1,000 entries judged by a national panel of health information experts, received a Bronze Award in the "Health Promotion/Disease and Injury Prevention" book category. According to Addicus Publisher Rod Colvin, "We are delighted to have this title be among the winners in the National Health Awards program. This book contains excellent information that will help many people." The book is authored by Christopher P. Steidle, MD, and Janet Casperson, ANP-C.

The June issue of Emergency Physician’s Monthly features an interview with Dr. Fred Mirarchi, author of Understanding Your Living Will. The article discusses the way in which living wills are sometimes misinterpreted by medical staff.

Dr. Mirarchi is also co-author of an article "Does a Living Will Equal a DNR? Are Living Wills Compromising Patient Safety?" published in The Journal of Emergency Medicine. The journal article was a case study of three cases from different parts of the country. It described what happened when patients went to an emergency room with an acute illness and a living will. In each case, the living will was misinterpreted as a "Do No Resuscitate" order, resulting in a change in how care was delivered.

Chicago businessman Jay Goltz will soon be writing a business blog for the New York Times. The blog, "You’re the Boss—The Art of Running a Small Business," may be read at  The New York Times Web site. Goltz is also a columnist for Inc. Magazine. He is author of the bestselling, "The Street-Smart Entrepreneur."
